It's easy to add Screencast-O-Matic to your Moodle environment. You can follow a similar process whether you are an administrator or teacher. First, if you are an admin login and go to Site Administration and then Manage External Tools under Plugins Enter the url as shown here and click 'Add' to install the LTI Plugin. You will be prompted for for a Consumer Key and Shared Secret. These fields are for Pro Hosting Users who have additional features such as adding video channels and embedding the Recorder for Student assignments. We cover Pro Hosting setup and use in other tutorials. If you are using a Free Hosting Account you can ignore these fields and click "Save Changes". To easily enable teachers to add Screencast-O-Matic to their activities, please click the settings cog here and scroll down to "Tool configuration usage". From the pulldown select "Show in activity chooser as a preconfigured tool" That's it! Now teachers can easily embed their videos from within any course activity. If you are a teacher, it's also easy to add Screencast-O-Matic to your course. After logging in, open a course and use the Settings Menu to "Turn editing on". From any course module, select "Add an activity or resource". If your admin has already configured Screencast-O-Matic, then you may find the LTI plugin listed in the Activities Menu. Select it and Click Add If you admin has not added Screencast-O-Matic to the Activities Menu, select External Tool and Click Add. A form appears for Adding a new External Tool. Fill out an activity name here and then type in the url here. Click "Save and return to course" and Screencast-O-Matic will be added.
