It's easy to add Screencast-O-Matic to your Canvas environment. You can follow a similar process whether you are an administrator or teacher. First, if you are an administrator login and go to Admin and then Apps under Settings Click "View App Configurations" Now click the +App button and then select "By url" under "Configuration Type". Enter the "App name" as shown here and "url" as shown here. The form includes values for a Consumer Key and Shared Secret. These fields are for Pro Hosting Users who have additional features such as adding video channels and embedding the Recorder for Student assignments. We cover Pro Hosting setup and use in other tutorials. If you are using a Free Hosting Account you can ignore these fields and click "Submit" to install the LTI Plugin. That's it! Now teachers can embed their videos easily from this icon for announcements, assignments or anywhere the rich text editor is available. If you are a teacher, it's also easy to add Screencast-O-Matic to your course. After logging in, open a course and go to "Apps" under "Settings" If your admin has already configured Screencast-O-Matic, then you may find the LTI plugin listed under "External apps". No further action is needed and you can start using Screencast-O-Matic. If you admin has not added Screencast-O-Matic, click the "View App Configurations" button Now click "+App" and then select "By url" under "Configuration Type". Enter the "App name" as shown here and "url" as shown here. Free Hosting Users can ignore the other fields and click "Submit " to add Screencast-O-Matic. After the app is added, you can embed videos easily from this icon for announcements, assignments or anywhere the rich text editor is available. You can also add Screencast-O-Matic to the course navigation menu by going to "Navigation" under "Settings". Just drag Screencast-O-Matic up to the main course navigation list and click "Save".
