To replace a section of your recorded video by freezing on a video frame you first seek to where you want to start freezing. For example, we have this recording which accidentally recorded a popup so we'd like to replace that section of video while keeping the audio by freezing the frame before the popup appeared so the viewer doesn't see it. To start the tool we click the "Tools" menu button above the timeline and select "Replace" then the "Freeze Frame" tool or you can just press the "R" key and then the "F" key to start the tool. Select the section to freeze by dragging the blue bar along the timeline. You can also click around the timeline then use the "S" key to jump the start to that point or the "E" key to jump the end to your current seek point. If you want to Preview what the freeze will look like then you can press the Preview button which will seek right before the section and start playing showing the freezed frame over the section and then stopping shortly after the section. Starting with version 2.1 we've updated the Freeze Frame tool so you can now choose if you'd like to freeze the frame at the start of the span or if you'd like to freeze the frame at the end of the span. For example this recording starts with an empty notepad window then later in the recording we've typed in some text. If we select everything from this point to the start then we'd have the option to hold this start frame to show the empty window for this time or to select the "End" option which will replace the video with the end frame which has the text already typed. We can see this final result by clicking the Preview button which shows the frozen end frame over the entire span. Once you're ready to commit you press the OK button or the Enter key Anytime you add an edit to a recording it is automatically saved on your computer. After the freeze is added a colored span will show on the timeline showing where the freeze happened. If you want to remove the freeze you can seek back to that spot on the timeline then click this icon which will bring up a menu with another icon you can press to remove the freeze and you can also adjust the span if you want to change the start or end of the freeze. You can also use the undo or edit history drop down to go back in time before you added the edit if you'd like to remove it. The last used tool will be listed next to the Tools button above the timeline so you can easily use the same tool again by clicking on it here.
