sers need to gain access to the tools associated to your Team Deluxe Plan to get access to the Deluxe features of the screen recorder and video editor. We provide solutions for this that don't require account creation or optionally SSO federation from your users existing organization accounts.
You can enable users access to the Deluxe Tools as follows:
- Access URL: from Admin Settings, you can create a unique access url that your team uses to access the tools.
- SAML: configured through your admin account to enable Single Sign On (SSO) based on your organizations authentication and user identity. Once you have configured SAML, your users can automatically authenticate into Screencast-O-Matic and use the Deluxe Tools.
You can configure a unique URL of the form https://screencast-o-matic.com/%7Byour unique name}. This URL with your unique name can be shared with your users so they can access the Deluxe Tools associated with your Team Plan.
To setup your Access URL, login with the admin account for your Team then navigate to this link: https://screencast-o-matic.com/settings/team-recorder/edit
The following methods of access can be utilized:
User launches the tools from web: Your users visit the web page located at your unique Access URL address and launch the tools.
User launches the tools that were pre-installed by admin (Windows and Mac): If you deployed the tools to your team via admin deployment tools, when your users launch the Windows or Mac app from desktop they are presented with a dialogue with options. They will choose "I have a Team Plan" and then type in the unique name (not the full URL) to gain access to the Deluxe Tools associated with your Team Plan.
Password Protected: Your unique access URL can be password protected to control license distribution. After your users launch the tools from the unique web page or from their desktop they will be presented with a password prompt to gain access to the Deluxe Tools. The admin of your account can update this password at any time.
SAML enables SSO through the use of your organizations login so you don't have to create a separate account with Screencast-O-Matic. SAML is especially convenient for larger deployments and when your team users are transient (i.e. they join or leave your organization) as it enables you to grant or remove rights to the licenses using SAML authorization. SAML setup is covered in separate articles and can be setup directly by the Admin in Settings. See articles.
Note: When using SAML, an account will be created on Screencast-O-Matic using your users organization email and name (first name, last name).
