Audio waveform not showing up using El Capitan Mac OSX 10.11 with USB mic

Please follow these instructions to show the waveform for future recordings.

  1. Use Spotlight to find the "Audio MIDI Setup" app
  2. Choose the USB mic you are using in the left column.
  3. Make sure format is setup to be 44100.0Hz.

 This should solve the problem for any future recordings.
