Recorded computer audio sounds slow and distorted (Windows)

If you are recording your computer's system audio and getting a slow and distorted sound then the steps below may help fix the problem.

Steps to fix slow and distorted sound when recording your computer's system audio:

  1. Right clicking the speaker icon next to the clock in the lower right of your screen choose "Playback devices"
  2. Right click on the currently selected speakers and choose the "Configure Speakers" option.
  3. Make sure the "Audio channels" setting is set to "Stereo".
If you are getting low and distorted audio when recording your microphone on Windows 10 then please follow these steps:

  1. Right click on the Sound icon on your bottom right.
  2. Click on Recording devices
  3. Right click on the microphone.
  4. Click on the Properties
  5. Click on Enhancements tab
  6. Check the 'Disable' box inside the box.
  7. Click 'Ok'


If you don't see an Enhancements tab then look for a "Signal Enhancements" section in the "Advanced" tab and uncheck that box.
