Chrome Extension: My webcam or mic isn't working (Windows)

If you are using Windows and your webcam or mic is not working while using the ScreenPal extension (after clicking the ScreenPal icon in a text box, or launching the Screen Recorder from the Chrome extension, you may not have enabled Chrome permissions for these devices when you installed the extension.

Google Chrome

To enable your camera for the ScreenPal extension, complete the steps below.

1. Click the Customize and control Google Chrome icon in the top right corner of your Google Chrome browser window and select Settings.



2. On the Settings page, select Privacy and security.



3. Click Site Settings.



4. Scroll down and under Permissions, click Camera.




5. In the Customized behaviors section, you should see a ScreenPal item under Not allowed to use your camera. Click the arrow next to it.



This displays your current ScreenPal permissions.

6. For Camera, click the drop-down list and select Ask (each site will ask you to enable the camera) or Allow (enables your camera on all sites).
You can also enable your microphone in the same way, if needed.



That's it!

You can also click the ScreenPal icon on a site to display the Choose what to record options.



From here, just switch the Camera toggle to the ON position.




Microsoft Edge

For Microsoft Edge, the process is similar but menu navigation is slightly different.  Go to Settings Cookies and Site permissions ScreenPal Extension, and then use the pull-down menus to allow camera and microphone.   Note that the ScreenPal extension may be listed as:
