The "Recordings" are the raw, unprocessed(not watchable videos) files complete with individual edit points, overlays, narration, images, etc. These are not video files and can't be watched. These "Recordings" can be edited and re-edited. These are what you back-up online in the cloud. These are for files you either may want to re-edit in the future or that you'd like to access from another computer.
These "Recordings" are backed-up using the "Backup and Restore" option(if you have a Solo Premier subscription). Please click on the link below to watch a short video tutorial that explains this further:
Now, on to videos. "Video files" must be manually uploaded using the "Upload to Screencast-O-Matic" option. These are what can be watched and seen online in your account when you log in. These files can not be re-edited once they're converted from a "Recording" to a "Video File".
