Why is the recording area cut off and only capturing part of my screen? (Windows 7 & 8)

If you complete a recording and it appears cut off or only captures one part of the screen or if you notice the mouse cursor is shifted or leaves marks as it moves, you may have Magnification set to something other than 100% in Windows. You may also notice that only the upper-left section of the recording area was captured.

While recording you must have magnification set to 100%.  You can change the magnification setting by doing the following:

Windows 8

1. Right click on the desktop
2. Select "Personalize"
3. In lower left corner of the windows under "See also" click "Display"
4. Make sure slider at the top is on "Smaller" (which is really 100% magnification)
5. May require reboot.

Windows 7

1. Right click on the desktop
2. Select "Personalize"
3. In lower left corner of the windows under "Also See" click "Display"
4. Make sure it's set at 100%
5. May require reboot.

Note: This only appears to happen on Windows 7 and 8.  This does not appear to happen on Windows 10.
